Daily challenge and rescuing a failing company

Sometimes a long life feels like too much. Or maybe you want to test your skills on the same terms as other players. There are two modes for that. One is the Daily Challenge, whose terms change every day. The other is Rescue a sinking company on the start screen.
Daily Challenge: same terms, same luck
A Daily Challenge card sits on the start screen. Your device's date for today picks the city, the CEO background, the founding era, the funding source, the CEO name and Today's industry. If the date is the same, everyone starts exactly the same way. Luck comes from the same seed too, so the same choices lead to the same events. The mode is Standard mode.
Press Start the challenge and the Business Registration Application opens. Today's industry is highlighted at the top. You can pick another industry, but your record will say "other industry".
You can retry as many times as you like in a day. Your record keeps that day's peak net worth, the ending you reached, and how many times you tried and finished. The ending screen adds a line comparing your run to today's best. Records are saved on this device, and only the last two months are kept.
- Same luck does not mean a fixed result. Your choices change how things go.
- If you went under, try again the same day and make different choices. It's a great way to see where things split.
- If you leave midway and come back with Continue, the same luck carries on.
Rescue a sinking company: four 10-minute crises
Rescue a sinking company (10-minute challenge, 4 scenarios) on the start screen is a short challenge where you take over a company that is already in trouble. You clear one crisis within a set time and get a grade. It is recorded separately from the life you were playing. At 1x speed it takes about 10 to 12 minutes. The top of the screen always shows the goal, your progress and the time left.
Every scenario brings eight sign-off cards made just for it. The choices usually split three ways. First, spend money and take care of people and quality. Second, make money but cost morale or relationships. Third, something in between. Even the same choice can have quite different results, depending on how the market reacts.
When it ends, you are scored out of 100. A score of 85 or more is S, 70 or more is A, 56 or more is B, and 36 or more is C. Below that, or if the company closes, it's F. The result window shows the points for each category, and Try again lets you retry right away. Only your best grade is kept.
Tips for each scenario
Payday in 90 days (hard, 7 months)
You take over a café that has run out of cash. Company cash is ₩5M, and the wage burden is 2.7 times the usual. You hit the goal if you cover wages for 7 months and don't close.
A month with negative company cash counts as a missed payroll. Even one miss means you fail the goal. The points are 25 for months you paid wages, 35 for morale, 15 for cash cushion and 25 for team loyalty. You have ₩12M in personal cash, so start with Put personal money into the company to get some breathing room.
A big chain opens across the street (normal, 8 months)
A small neighborhood café goes head to head with a big chain's coffee store. The rival starts with strength 80 and plays aggressively. The goal is a market share of 38% or more after 8 months.
The points are 30 for market share, 25 for quality and Hype, 15 for the relationship with the rival and 30 for cash cushion. Don't bleed money in a price war. Raising quality and Hype together is better for share.
A co-founder walks out just before the breakout (normal, 8 months)
At a software startup, your co-founder leaves. You start with a 64% stake. You hit the goal if the company is still running after 8 months and your stake is 67% or more.
The points are 30 for your stake, 20 for operations and cash, 25 for team morale and loyalty, and 25 for the relationship with the co-founder. Even when cash is tight, be careful with choices like getting cash in exchange for stake, because they cut your stake. Offering a fair settlement protects both your stake and the relationship.
Taking over a failed company (hard, 9 months)
This café starts with Quality 35 and morale 45, and its wage burden is 3 times normal. You hit the goal if you post a profit for 3 months in a row within 9 months.
The points are 25 for the profit streak, 15 for debt, 35 for quality and 25 for cash cushion. Quality is worth the most, so don't just cut costs. Bring quality back first.
Saving a friend's company with a rescue request
You can also hand a company you grew to someone else as homework. Press 📤 Save this company as a rescue request at the bottom of a running company's screen, and the company's current state is saved to a file. The company name, the CEO's pay and any personal guarantee are not passed on, and the CEO's pay starts at 0. You can't save a company that has dishonest operations or unsettled accounts.
The person who gets it loads it with 📩 Import a rescue request on the start screen. The goal is to get back to profit within 12 months while keeping solvency, staff and customers. In this mode you can only run the company.
The scoring is 30 points for 3 months of profit in a row, 25 for solvency, 20 for keeping staff and 25 for keeping customers. You need to be on a 3-month profit streak when the 12 months end, so closing out the last three months in profit is the key. To succeed, 80% or more of your staff and customers must stay. The grade cutoffs are S at 85, A at 70, B at 55 and C at 35.
Summary
- In the Daily Challenge, the date sets your starting terms and your luck. You can try many times a day, and your best record for that day is kept.
- Each of the four crises takes 10 to 12 minutes. The points per category in the result window show you what to look after.
- When cash is tight, put in personal money. Morale, quality and relationships carry a lot of points, so look after them along with cash.
- For a rescue request, a profit in the last three months and keeping 80% of staff and customers decide the result.
