Endings and the dex: how it ends becomes your record

This game has no score. Instead, when a life ends, the game reads your whole journey and gives it an ending name. Two players can start in the same industry and still get very different names, depending on how they finish.
How an ending is chosen
A life ends at moments like death, announcing your retirement, or reaching age 95. Then the game goes down its list of endings in a fixed order and picks the first one that fits. The order is:
- Endings set by how the life ended or by a big turning point, such as Worked to Death, Loan-Shark Hell, Conglomerate Dynasty and Philanthropist.
- The industry ending of your flagship business.
- Generic endings: Unicorn & IPO, M&A Exit, Hidden Champion, Out of Cash, Ordinary Happiness, and A Life, More or Less for when nothing else fits.
Your flagship business is the company with the biggest peak monthly revenue. Money you made by selling a company counts too. If you ran several companies, the one you grew the biggest becomes the face of your life.
Each company can also earn its own business ending. When a living company reaches a good outcome, a 🏁 Business ending window pops up right then. You choose Keep going or Wrap up your life here. A company you closed gets checked once, after it closes. The same ending shows up only once per run.
Closing, selling and going public
There are three main ways to end a company.
- Closing: Shut it down costs 1 action point. You get back your share of the leftover cash. A company you close without selling tends to lead to a failure-type ending.
- Selling (exit): Test the sale market needs monthly revenue of ₩50M or more. The higher your monthly revenue, the better the odds of getting an offer. Companies in the red rarely sell. Once your sale money has piled up past a certain amount, the M&A Exit path opens.
- Going public (IPO): Push for an IPO costs 3 action points. You can try it only in industries that can raise several funding rounds, and only when annual revenue is big enough. It won't pass review during a financial crisis. Once you have gone public even one time, the Unicorn & IPO ending opens up.
There is also a path with no sale: stay in profit for a long time, usually around four years. When a living company reaches a good outcome, its business ending opens.
Aiming for the ending you want
Open the 🏁 Ending conditions button on the business screen. For every ending this company's industry can lead to, it lists the conditions in plain words and marks how far along you are with ✅ and ⬜. It also tells you which ending you'd get if your life ended now. A living company is counted differently from a closed one, so treat that as a hint only.
If you have one particular ending in mind, your first step is to make that ending's industry your flagship business. If another company has bigger monthly revenue, that one becomes the flagship. In the Dex, endings you haven't seen show as ???, and the name fills in once you see it.
The ledger, recent endings and sharing
On the home screen, the Closures & Exits Ledger collects every life you played to the end, newest first. Each life takes one line with the name, background, city, ending, age and peak net worth. This record is saved only on this device. If you end a life by retiring and then pick Keep going, that line leaves the ledger and you can try again.
Below it, Recent endings shows the last sign-offs of other CEOs. Each entry is one line with the industry, the ending, how long they played, and the decisive moment right before the end. Your own ending can be posted too. If stats are on, the game asks once whether to post it anonymously or with a nickname. You can turn this off in ⚙ Settings or clear your public records there. Never put your real name or contact info in a nickname.
The ending screen has share buttons. You can save an image, use Share, post to a social app, or copy the result text. The card shows the ending name, your peak net worth and your Dex progress.
Filling the Dex
Open 📖 Dex on the home screen, next to the ledger. It counts three things.
- Sign-off requests: cards fill in when you make the decision yourself.
- Endings: endings you've seen fill in, along with how many times you've seen each.
- Industries opened: an industry's 🔒 comes off once you have started a company in it.
Tap an industry to see its card list and its industry ending list. Anything you haven't seen shows as ???. Your records are kept on this device and carry over when you start a new life. The combos you find are collected here too, under 🧩 Combos found.
The tips are simple. Pick an industry you haven't tried in every new run. Just starting a company fills the industry slot. If you grow several companies, you can see several business endings in one run. Use the Ending conditions window to check what you're missing. And when a living company is doing well, grab its business ending before you wrap up your life.
Summary
- An ending comes from the record of your whole life, not a score. The first one that fits is the one you get.
- The flagship business is the company with the biggest peak monthly revenue. Grow that company if you're aiming for an ending.
- The 🏁 Ending conditions button on the business screen shows each condition and your progress.
- The Dex counts sign-off requests, endings and industries opened. New industries and several companies are the fastest way to fill it.
